About US

Sculpture 05730My name is Diane Michelle. I hold the position we call supervisor and share this position with our granddaughters, Lilly Alana, and Jeanae Marie. We keep papa, Randolph Torres, in line and we all jointly run Coopered Patterns.

For us the process is a continuous venture into the unknown from start to finish. Papa tells us when he is involved in creating one of our sculptures. He is utilizing every ounce of his whole life experience to its limits, then beyond. He is continually developing new processes (or rediscovering), designing and modifying templates, sleds, and tools. Even glue ups have to be reinvented and is a long and complicated process. I can see in his demeanor that he enjoys the whole process to no end even the complicated procedures.

We engineer each piece for glue up joints, and will never pollute our pieces with staples, screws, nails or brads.

Our goal is to replicate the beautiful shapes we see in our environment, in glassware, ceramics, metal smithing, and castings. Most of our pieces will be huge in size and tall in stature. Designed for indoor commercial showcasing, using dried flowers in an arrangement to decorate and beautify any environment. The dried flower arrangement will be far more maintenance friendly and cost effective, yet look just as attractive as a flower bed.

Our future goal is to combine more exotic woods, and incorporate stone, glass, tiles, nonferrous metals, and possibly plastics into our pieces.
